Every date is different, but most couples hire us 6-12 months before their wedding. We’re more than happy to accept short-term bookings, but for weddings April-October we recommend contacting us as soon as possible to reserve an officiant for your date. Due to high demand, we typically sell out the most popular Saturdays several months in advance. To check our availability for your date, contact us here.
You can view our current rates on our pricing page. Our pricing can vary slightly depending on the service you select, as well as the date, time, and location of the wedding. For example, if you want a particular officiant who is further from your venue, there may be a slightly higher rate. A full and accurate price quote will be provided by email as soon as you contact us.
Many couples ask if we offer discounts for military, teachers, police officers, students, or other groups. While we don’t specifically offer additional discounts, we always give our best price to every single couple that contacts us.
For Our Custom Ceremony Package, once you contact us and confirm you’re ready to be matched with an officiant, we issue a digital contract and will hold your date for 10 days while you have a chance to speak with the officiant and decide. For our classic, elopement, and signing packages we put a courtesy hold on your date for 48 hours. At that time, you would simply sign your digital contract and make payment to secure your booking.
For our Custom Ceremony Package and Classic Ceremony Package, we require a minimum non-refundable 50% reservation fee at the time of booking, with the remaining balance due at least 30 days before your wedding. If you are booking a wedding less than 30 days out, payment is due in full at the time of booking. Many couples choose to pay in full when they hire us, but this is not required. For our Elopement Ceremony Package, Signing Ceremony Package and Coaching Package, payment in full is due at the time of booking.
Yes! We actually don’t take anything except credit cards, and our paperless online booking process makes contracting and payment a snap. Many couples speak with their officiant, sign the contract, and pay in the same day.
Of course! With our Custom Ceremony Package your officiant will work with you to create a custom wedding ceremony that perfectly suits your needs. For Classic Ceremonies, you do not work directly with the officiant to create the ceremony. For Classic Ceremonies you will answer a series of questions that allow you to have basic modifications to a traditional ceremony script. For elopement ceremonies, there are a few different options for the ceremony script, check out the Pittsburgh Elopements page for more information.
Absolutely! Our experienced team of professional wedding officiants creates interfaith ceremonies for couples all the time. We have a large library of resources to draw from in creating the perfect ceremony to honor all of the traditions your families share.
All of our officiants have experience performing both religious and completely non-religious ceremonies, and everything in between. We will work with you to create a ceremony that reflects your wishes and your values.
Yes, our company has performed hundreds of marriages and commitments for LGBTQ+ couples and we are happy to work with any couple who wants to get married.
While we do our best to be flexible and accommodating in the unlikely event of a date or time change, we are not able to guarantee our availability if you need to change the date, time, or location of your wedding. If you need to make a change, please contact us as soon as possible so we can try to find a solution that works for everyone.
Most of the time we don’t attend the rehearsal, since you’re only practicing walking in and out and not the ceremony itself. This is a great way for couples to be able to save a little money. We promise – we’ve never had someone not get married because they couldn’t figure out how to walk down the aisle! Most of our couples instead choose to use our free Wedding Rehearsal Guide and have a family member or friend run their rehearsal. That said, we absolutely can do your rehearsal and you can read more about our rehearsals here.
Yes! We work with a lot of couples (especially military couples) who are already legally married and then want to have a more formal ceremony later. Because of the local marriage laws, you will need to show us a copy of your marriage certificate to verify that you’re legally married and then we’ll be happy to do this for you!
It's easy! Start by filling out our contact form and letting us know which of our services you are interested in. We will take you step by step through our process from there!
We’d be more than happy to answer any of your questions! Email our main office at info@ceremonyofficiants.com or call us at 800-721-VOWS and we will be happy to assist you!
