Below, you’ll find some of the most frequently asked questions about Pittsburgh Officiants and our amazing team of professionals. If you end up having additional questions that aren’t covered here, please contact us today and we’ll be happy to help you!
How Far in Advance Should We Book an Officiant?
Every date is different, but most couples hire us 6-12 months before their wedding. We’re more than happy to accept short-term bookings, but for weddings April-October we recommend contacting us as soon as possible to reserve an officiant for your date. Due to high demand, we typically sell out the most popular Saturdays several months in advance. To check our availability for your date, contact us here.
How Much Do You Charge?
Our pricing varies depending on the service you select (Elopement or Full-Scale Wedding), as well as the date, time, and location of the wedding. A full and accurate price quote will be provided by email as soon as you contact us.
Do You Offer Any Discounts?
Many couples ask if we offer discounts for military, teachers, police officers, students, or other groups. While we don’t specifically offer additional discounts, we always give our best price to every single couple that contacts us.
How Long Will You Hold Our Date?
Once you contact us and confirm you’re ready to be matched with an officiant, we issue a digital contract and will hold your date for 10 days while you have a chance to speak with the officiant and decide.
How Much of a Deposit is Required?
For full-scale weddings, we require a minimum 50% deposit at the time of booking, with the remaining balance due at least 30 days before your wedding. Many couples choose to pay in full when they hire us, but this is not required. For elopement ceremonies, payment in full is due at the time of booking.
Can We Pay With a Credit Card?
Yes! We actually don’t take anything except credit cards, and our paperless online booking process makes contracting and payment a snap. Many couples speak with their officiant, sign the contract, and pay in the same day.
Can We Personalize Or Ceremony?
Of course! For full-scale weddings your officiant will work with you to create a custom wedding ceremony that perfectly suits your needs. For elopement ceremonies, there are a few different options for the ceremony script, check out the Pittsburgh Elopements page for more information.
We Come From Different Religious Backgrounds. Can You Help Us?
Absolutely! Our experienced team of professional wedding officiants creates interfaith ceremonies for couples all the time. We have a large library of resources to draw from in creating the perfect ceremony to honor all of the traditions your families share.
We Would Like a Religious/Non-Religious Ceremony, Are You Able To Do That?
All of our officiants have experience performing both religious and completely non-religious ceremonies, and everything in between. We will work with you to create a ceremony that reflects your wishes and your values.
Do You Perform Same-Sex Weddings?
Yes, our company has performed hundreds of marriages and commitments for LGBT couples and we are happy to work with any couple who wants to get married.
What Happens If I Change My Wedding Date, Time, or Location?
While we do our best to be flexible and accommodating in the unlikely event of a date or time change, we are not able to guarantee our availability if you need to change the date, time, or location of your wedding. If you need to make a change, please contact us as soon as possible so we can try to find a solution that works for everyone.
Will You Come to Our Wedding Rehearsal?
Most of the time we don’t attend the rehearsal, since you’re only practicing walking in and out and not the ceremony itself. If one of our officiants is available for your rehearsal date and time, we can create a separate contract for the rehearsal for an additional fee. Most of our couples instead choose to use our free Wedding Rehearsal Guide and have a family member or friend run their rehearsal.
We’re Already Legally Married, But No One Knows. Is That Okay?
Yes! We work with a lot of couples (especially military couples) who are already legally married and then want to have a more formal ceremony later. Because of the local marriage laws, you will need to show us a copy of your marriage certificate to verify that you’re legally married and then we’ll be happy to do this for you!
How Do We Book You?
Simply fill out our contact form and we’ll reach out quickly with a price quote and more information.
